We need volunteers to help us weed the West Bluff Community Garden.  With all the wet and humid weather this season, the weeds in the Garden have too strong a hold !  Please come out and help us do battle.  With 10-12 volunteers we could accomplish alot in one night (even more in two nights).  Icy pops for everyone who helps out!<br />

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">Harvest News: We harvested a big crop of greens &#8212; spinach, lettuces and a few peas &#8212; on Sunday. Thanks to all who </font><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">made it to the garden with short notice. By Sunday afternoon the greens (approx. 50 lbs!) were in the fridge at WestMark Food Pantry and yesterday morning they were in the hands of hungry neighbors &#8211; local, organic, healthy greens, grown from seed by all of you. Thank you!!!</font></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">As I mentioned in my last note, we have a large amount of seedlings to get in the ground. Unfortuntately, it doesn&#8217;t look like the</font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">weather is going to cooperate tonight so let&#8217;s plan for a Wednesday night planting festival. If you can be there tomorrow night, please</font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">consider yourself warmly invited. The plan is to finish getting the tomatoes into the big garden and get some peppers etc into the ground where </font><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">we just pulled out the lettuce and spinach. We have a big need for people who like to dig, plant, weed and mulch. If any of those catch your fancy, </font><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">come on out for some stress-relieving exercise and meet some neighbors too.</font></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">I am working on getting some additional plants for the big garden, if we get those in time, we&#8217;ll plan on some planting tomorrow.</font></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">If anyone is available for weeding but can&#8217;t make the specific garden times, the smaller garden could use some periodic weeding &#8212; we have a lot of volunteer tomatoes and some volunteer sunflowers. We got a lot of them out of the smaller garden last week, but if you like to weed and have some time over the next few weeks, please stop by whenever you can and pull some weeds. Now that the weather is warm and we&#8217;re getting a lot of sun and rain, things are really starting to grow!</font></p>
